I just saw the list of sales for Delcampe International for the last three months -
"Sold items (June ) 420 276
Sold items (May) 422 024
Sold items (April) 470 101 "

It seems that sales are going down - Why should this be?

There are more and more very useful items for sale, and many of those are at reasonable prices.

I just do not understand why sales on Delcampe are not better.

Does anyone have any idea as to what can be done to improve sales?

I can only speak about the postcard area but I know that April--for some reason--was a particularly high sale month. June was not even a 0.5% drop from May and the summer is generally slower sales-wise, isn't it? People are travelling, gardening, etc, ie. not sitting in front of their computer.

As for postcard sales, they are higher on the US site than one year ago; I have faith that Delcampe is growing and will continue to do so.

Hello,
I just recently started selling postcards from the USA here. Being a new seller here I am pleased with the amount of views that I am receiving and the sales that I have made.. Language has not presented any problems since a lot of my sales are going to Germany & France.. I have thousands of postcards to be posted and will be adding more everyday... I still have a lot of my USA buyers to follow me here and I know they will be buying from sellers here too.
Alan65 is right about summer vacations and with gas prices going over $4.00/gal. money is really tight.. So if postcard sales are decent now they should really pickup come the fall season....

bonjour james,
i can't complain too much about my sales these past few months but then many people know the cajun. i have been here a while as member #301. i am certainly ain't at the top of the ladder with 496 sales, but many of them are satified customers who bought stamp gumbo from me, so they must like the taste. some have come back for seconds and even thirds. and the best things is... i have met many new friends in my long journey here. and it isn't over yet.

amities,
cajunsr.
:D

I too have started to sell on here and even though it is slower than the "other side" I have found that it is picking up, slowly

I have also noticed that there are quite a few non payers ....more that the other side and perhaps Delcampe should introduce a 3 strikes and out over a 3-6 month period as there seems to be little done about non payers

It's the same over here with the prices....our petrol (gas) is aound £1.20 ($2.40) a LITRE !....Not a gallon a LITRE....and I am dreading the electric and gas bill this winter....I reckon that over the year I will be paying around £1800 ($3600) in eletric and heating compared to around £800 ($1600) 2 years ago
Take that and add it to an ever increasing food bill every week something has to give, and unfortunatly it's the 'hobbies' side
